They provide young women with a bridge between obstacles and opportunity, giving them the experiences, education, and resources needed to overcome unexpected barriers to success.
Black People Will Swim
Black People Will Swim’s sole mission is plain and simple: it’s smashing the stereotype that Black people don’t swim. We want to teach 2,020 Black people and people of color how to swim by December 2020. We aim to do this through a number of ways with our acronym F.A.C.E. encouraging our community to FACE their fears.

LIFE Camp is a frontline gun violence prevention and intervention team making our communities safer. Founded in April 2002, LIFE Camp, Inc. (Love Ignites Freedom Through Education) is one of the leading violence prevention and intervention organizations in America. Based in South Jamaica Queens, LIFE Camp, Inc. develops young leaders and provides youth and families with positive alternatives to violence, bullying, and other forms of anti-social behavior.
